Duties Apply a practical knowledge of youth recreational activities and skills in the use of various types of recreation equipment.
Instruct children/youth on proper use of variety of equipment.
Issues/receives recreational equipment.
Identifies age-appropriate equipment for procurement, selects vendor, and purchases gear/equipment as needed.
Maintain hand receipts and collects all inventoried items.
Inspects supplies and equipment for damage.
Ensures sufficient supplies are on hand and equipment in good condition.
Assists in setting up sports events and may assist in athletic programs as needed.
Maintains an effective safety and accident prevention program.
Conducts daily safety and maintenance checks of facilities, grounds, and outdoor recreation areas.
Recommends purchase of equipment required to maintain proper facility safety compliance.
Operates various types of equipment for athletic field maintenance (lawn mowers, tractors with attachments, edging and pruning tools, trimmers, rakes, etc.
Applies fertilizer, seed, and herbicides.
Collects and empties trash containers.
Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be 18 years of age or older at time of appointment or placement into the position.
Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
Meet qualification/eligibility/physical/background requirements for this position.
Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations.
A one year probationary period may be required (either initially or upon conversion, if applicable).
Successful completion of annual training requirements within the prescribed time frame and demonstrated on the job competence is required.
May be subject to an irregular hours, evening and or weekends.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) Check.
Positions that require driving require the incumbent to have a valid driver's license.
Travel to on and off post locations required.
Qualifications 1.
Progressively responsible work experience that provided knowledge of equipment and facility maintenance, inventory, ordering and instructing 2.
Use of various recreation equipment 3.
Good customer relations skills 4.
Must be physical able to walk, bend,stoop, stand on a routine basis 5.
Lift supplies and equipment weighing up 50 pounds Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position.
Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay.
When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
