We are professional, agile, innovative, and our goal is to connect individuals like you - with unique, career-boosting opportunities! *JOB SUMMARY* We are currently seeking a dedicated Riparian Zone Ecology Support Instructor to assist in delivering a comprehensive curriculum for our Riparian Zone Ecology course.
This position is pivotal in supporting field trips, practical exercises, and enhancing the learning experience of our students through hands-on education in riparian zone restoration and ecology.
*MAIN OBJECTIVES* * Assist in the development and delivery of the course curriculum focusing on riparian zone ecology and restoration.
* Support the Lead Instructor in organizing and leading field trips and practical exercises.
* Facilitate learning by providing additional instruction and clarification to students as needed.
* Contribute to the assessment of student progress and the adaptation of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
*SCHEDULE OF WORK* * Full-time position, with occasional weekend field trips.
* Flexible scheduling options available, incorporating a mix of classroom instruction and fieldwork.
*PLACE OF PERFORMANCE* * Classroom instruction is managed through the U.
S.
Army Corps of Engineers Learning Center (ULC) in Huntsville, Alabama.
Specific course locations for fieldwork and instruction will be determined (TBD).
*PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE* * The contract will consist of a 1-year base period of performance with the possibility of extension through four 1-year option periods, totaling a potential duration of 5 years.
*QUALIFICATIONS* * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biological/Ecological Sciences, with a focus on riparian ecology preferred.
* Minimum of five years of experience in ecological fieldwork, with specific experience in riparian zone restoration.
* Previous teaching or instructional experience in a related field is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with the Lead Instructor and students.
