Summary:
The position is in the Department of Community & Regional Planning (DCRP) and at the tenure-track Assistant Professor level.
The overall responsibilities include research, teaching and service.
Expertise in urban and regional planning practice, particularly in environmental planning and/or scholarship required.
Preferred candidates should demonstrate a commitment to the values in the current Curriculum Standard of the Planning Accreditation Board, including equity, diversity, social justice, and inclusion; sustainability, resilience, and climate justice; and professional ethics and responsibility
Examples of Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support both DCRP's Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning and the Masters of Urban and Regional Planning programs curricula.
Develop and maintain a vibrant research agenda with the potential to obtain external funding.
Develop and submit grant applications and research papers to peer-reviewed journals.
Assist with recruitment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.
):
PhD in Urban Planning at the time of application or be able to provide assurance of a PhD prior to appointment
Professional certifications or experience in designing and teaching online courses
Strong quantitative and qualitative skill sets
AICP is preferable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrate capacity for collaborative research teams, working with a range of internal and external partners, development of transversal and interdisciplinary initiatives, as well as experience in environmental planning, environmental justice, climate change, disaster recovery and/or community resilience.
Candidate to possess effective teaching within a curriculum which emphasizes hands-on learning experience.
Professional certifications or experience in international planning and teaching online courses.
Strong quantitative and qualitative skill set.
