Summary:
To assist Director in providing instruction to Bulldog LIFE students, family members, community liaisons, and to increase leadership and person-centered opportunities for inclusive participation of BDL students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with teaching young adult's daily classes on personal growth and independent living as outlined as a part of the approved Comprehensive College Transition Program CCTP with the Department of Education
Identify and support internships and externships on campus and with the community businesses for BDL students.
Advocate for the "person-centered" approach with all students to assure this approach is meeting the students of the program
Provide purposeful job training courses pursuant to the approved curriculum
Create and assist in hands on activities on around campus as it relates to programming
Perform other duties as assigned
Adhere to all university and Bulldog LIFE Policies and Procedures in accordance to the CCTP
Job Requirements:
Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.
):
Master's Degree required in Rehabilitation Counseling, or Special Education, Rehabilitation services, counseling or related field
Three (3) to five (5) year's work experience preferably as a Rehabilitation Counselor, Special Educator or worked in non-profit, government, or communication organizations
Leadership skills including ability to hold others accountable
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Leadership skills including ability to hold others accountable
Knowledge of and experience with adults with disabilities
Self-starter, works independently, task oriented, multi-tasking, creative problem-solver, clear, concise verbal and written communications, organized, responsive to requests with timely follow-up
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge and experience with platform, such as Zoom and Microsoft
Ability to relate to college aged and non-traditional students

The salary for each position is based on the grade/tier in which the position is placed, and the salary within the grade/tier is based on the number of years of related experience or number of years in the hiring rank.
