Position Overview
This is a unique position that combines clerical work, customer service skills, and overseeing a fitness area.
The perfect candidate for this job is a high-energy, multi-tasker that can take direction and execute independently.
Employees in this class are responsible for the performance of clerical tasks which can be readily learned by training on the job, requiring limited judgment in their execution.
The employee is expected to be flexible handling various tasks and assist during various events.
These duties will be performed primarily at the Robert “Bob” Harrison Senior Wellness and Advocacy Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee the fitness area at all times to ensure the safety of participants and security of equipment
Educate participants and enforce rules and regulations regarding safe and proper use of the equipment and facility.
Familiarize participants with the safe and effective use of fitness, aerobic, and free weight equipment.
Maintain equipment and report any safety or maintenance needs to Director or Operations Manager.
Clean and "wipe down" all equipment on a regular basis.
Maintains various types of records and files.
Prepare incident and injury reports when appropriate.
Re-stock all first aid kits, maintain supply inventory, and check out towels.
Dress professionally to suit the nature of the job.
Respond to and follow all emergency procedures.
Must be able to operate membership software for various tasks assigned.
Answers phone and provides follow-up calls as assigned by supervisor.
Assists general public and co-workers performing routine tasks as directed by
supervisor.
Flexible schedule to include events on weekends and evenings.
The employee will perform related work as required.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
Education and Experience
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to: Graduation from a standard high school.
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability
Familiarity and willingness to work with the elderly population.
High level of customer service skills
Some knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
Ability to use current computer applications with ease.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions as required.
Ability to accurately maintain simple clerical records.
Ability to write legibly as required.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
Other Requirements
Physical Requirements
Work is performed in both an office and gym office environment.
Operate and demonstrate use of fitness equipment.
Work may also be performed in the field on occasion and involves everyday risks or discomforts which requires normal safety precautions when operating equipment and performing the work.
Work is essentially sedentary with occasional walking, standing, bending, and carrying items under 25 pounds such as books, papers, office supplies, and file folders.
Work requires the physical ability to position oneself in a stationary position for extended periods of time and operate a computer keyboard.
