Substitute Teacher

We are looking for Substitute Teachers to work in our Infant-Preschool Classrooms.
Hours for this position are flexible.
We are looking for candidates that are able to work in the afternoon (until 5:00/5:30pm).
Candidate can choose to work shifts varying from 4-8 hours as long as the shift ends in the afternoon.
Any days are available.
Opportunity for full time after probationary period.
*Responsibilities* * Be comfortable using Creative Curriculum * Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.
) to help children learn through play * Observe each child to help them improve their social skills and build self-esteem * Encourage children to interact with each other, build friendships, socialize appropriately and resolve conflicts * Track children’s progress and maintain open communication with parents.
* Collaborate with co-teachers * Provide 15 minute breaks for teachers in the assigned age-group, lunch breaks and providing support as needed *Skills* * Understanding of the principles of child development * Positive attitude * Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms * Excellent communication and instructional skills * Ability to act as mediator between children * Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable * CDA, Associates, or Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required We are an equal opportunity employer.
