, a growing local CPA firm in Scottsboro, Alabama that delivers tax, audit, accounting and other specialized services is seeking a staff accountant.
As a member of our local CPA firm team, the candidate will be exposed to a broad range of experiences.
As a Staff Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
Performing and completing field work including preparation of work-papers for a variety of financial statement engagements.
Providing analysis of account balances and documenting findings, assisting in drafting reports and obtaining an understanding of client businesses.
Preparing Individual and business tax returns.
Position will also require researching technical accounting issues, maintaining strict confidentiality of all client matters and performing other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
Desired education, experience and skills:
* Bachelor or Master's degree in Accounting
* 1+ years' experience in a public accounting firm as a tax accountant or staff auditor is a plus
* CPA or CPA Candidate is a plus
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and organizational skills
* Proficiency in use of computers, including various accounting software, audit, Income tax and Microsoft Office software
