Job Summary
Responsible for assisting with maintaining customers’ accounts receivables and maintaining payments to vendors.
This role also serves to ensure that accurate and proper accounting procedures are followed.
It is held to complete payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
Responsibilities and Duties
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Work cooperatively with SEA sales group to use their customer relationship to help resolve issues.
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Provides accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
Accurately prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
Prepare bank deposits.
Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
Maintain accounting files.
Disburses petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation.
Maintains historical records.
Make collection calls to customers for skipped invoices or delinquent account status.
Prepare demand letters when appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
BS degree in Accounting or Business OR at least 2 years of accounting experience required.
Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
Aptitude for math.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Problem solving ability.
Ability to be pro-active and assertive while also maintaining a positive customer relationship.
Proficient with Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, Outlook.
Detail oriented, good organization and planning skills.
Physical Requirements
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required.
This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee is frequently required to talk and hear.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
