Seabrooks Solutions is looking for a highly driven and motivated Accounting Intern who has a basic understanding of GAAP and financial principles.
The Accounting Intern will be exposed to day-to-day accounting/payroll of a small business government contractor.
This internship is from January – March 2024.
Accounting Intern Responsibilities: Shadowing members of the accounting/payroll department as they perform their duties.
Assisting with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
· Timekeeping-understanding the DCAA rules and how to charge, reviewing employee timesheets, auditing time, etc.
· AP-Entering invoices, knowing where to charge, posting periods, applying payments, generating a report.
· A/R-Generating a simple invoice in Unanet, applying receivables.
· Into to payroll entry in Unanet · Expense reports · Recons Working with bookkeeping software such as Unanet Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
Learning how to work as part of the accounting/payroll team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company and customers.
Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations.
Accounting Intern Requirements: · Must be enrolled at a university/college actively working towards a bachelor’s degree in accounting · Satisfactory completion of introductory accounting courses and a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.
· GPA of 3.
0 or higher · Competence in mathematics, proficiency with computers.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility.
· Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.
