Automotive Controller needed for a new-car dealership in the Huntsville, AL market.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record as an Automotive Controller in a new car dealership and is a great leader and mentor to their accounting team.
This is a great long-term opportunity to take over a well-established automotive accounting office as the current Automotive Comptroller is retiring after several successful years with the dealer.
The Automotive Controller will be responsible to manage the financial activities of the dealership and ensure that financial goals are met.
This person will be responsible to close out the month, maintain accurate financial records, analyze financial data, prepare financial reports, and provide financial guidance to management.
The successful candidate will be well versed in all areas of automotive accounting as to properly train and manage their office staff.
Moreover, it is important to us that this person is not only a great automotive accountant, but a great leader to their office staff as well to foster a sense of team work and keep the office a place of positive morale.
The Comptroller will be responsible to oversee a stable team of individuals in the accounting office.
This is a busy dealership and the Controller hired will have support from upper management to get their job done.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee the financial activities of the dealership
• Prepare and submit the monthly financial statement
• Develop and maintain accurate financial records
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management
• Prepare financial reports and present them to management
• Provide financial guidance to management and assist in decision-making
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations
• Oversee and implement financial policies and procedures
• Manage the accounting team and provide leadership, guidance, and training
• Review and approve financial transactions
• Work closely with the CFO
• Maintain effective communication with management and other departments
• Maintain regular communication with the Dealer Principal on the standings of the dealership, cost saving measures, and any issues that may require their attention
Schedule:
Monday - Friday schedule.
Compensation:
Compensation in the $85,000 - $110,000 range based on experience and track record.
