What You Do
What You Do
Responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and ongoing execution of cost management functions to ensure MTM is cost competitive and compliant with all applicable US GAAP principles and internal SOX control requirements.
As a part of the above and on an ongoing basis
Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
Work closely with advisors from Mazda and Toyota
Proactively engage and support company level strategic decision making from a financial viewpoint
Develop strong working relationships with members of Toyota Motor North America Accounting and Finance team that will be providing certain shared services and other support
Create strategic SMART goals for cost management specialist and track progress
Collaborate cross functionally to analyze cost monthly, quarterly, and yearly
Support team in achievement of action plans surrounding annual budgeting, annual contract manufacturing fee setting, quarterly forecasts, monthly shop cost management activities, month-end close, internal reporting, and key targets
Manage cross-functional and cross-company projects focusing on cost improvement activities and attainment of unit cost and functional targets
Provide daily leadership for Specialists who have responsibility for cost management area which includes cost accounting, cost planning and shop management reporting
Lead and supervise Specialist who serves as the MTM cross-functional business process systems management function lead related to SAP and interrelated applications
Performs other related duties as assigned by the department
Be available to work outside of normal work schedule, including but not limited to weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)
What You Bring
High School Diploma or GED
3 years’ experience in Accounting/Finance, preferably in automotive manufacturing
Experience in a project lead role, with an emphasis in cost accounting
Experience and knowledge of accounting regulations
Project management experience
Experience with root cause analysis/problem solving and Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products
What Will Set You Apart
Bachelor’s degree in Account/Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
6 years’ experience in Accounting/Finance, preferably in automotive manufacturing
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
