Collecting and analyzing data about company’s operational costs
Preparing, calculating, and setting standard costs of manufactured goods
Updates new parts for bill of materials, routers, and overhead rates monthly
Assist in the preparation of the operating budget and forecasts on a monthly and annual basis
Assess inventory control measures and develops measures to improve inventory accuracy in conjunction with Logistics and Operations
Ensure proper shop order, sample order, scrap reporting and analysis
Create ad hoc reports, analysis and special projects as required by management
Prepare variance analysis for inventory, manufacturing cost and standard cost variances
Assist with development, preparation, and distribution of KPI metrics
Prepare month-end journal entries and other closing activities
Prepare account reconciliations as assigned
Work with manufacturing to conduct physical inventory audits, investigating variances as they arise and adjusting inventories as necessary
Performs monthly inventory valuation and reconciliation of cost ledgers.
Process CAPEX requests, tracking spend and capitalize asset as required.
Prepares and monitors operating forecasts based on budgets.
Review significant variations and analyze operating impact.
Assists other employees with information and/or analysis when requested.
Bachelor’s or above degree in Accounting, Finance, or any related field.
Ability to analyze and solve problems & excellent numerical and analytical skills.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and administrative computing systems.
Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
Demonstrate ability to be a team player.
Bilingual Mandarin Chinese preferred.

We are looking for a cost accountant to be part of our growing accounting department in the factory of Alabama.
The Cost Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining the cost accounting system, incorporating understanding of manufacturing operations and generally accepted accounting practices.
This position will take direction with general supervision from the Controller and requires interaction with all levels of the organization.
