Hughes & Kettner Switchblade 100 Guitar Amp and 2x12” custom speaker cabinet
I bought this fantastic amplifier barely used, had a custom speaker cabinet built to match it, then work took over my life and I had little time to play it.
It has been studio kept while I have had it, and I never gigged with it.
It is a 4 channel amplifier, with a beautiful clean sound, crunch, lead, and ultra for extremely high gain.
It is in very good condition and sounds great.
It is entirely digitally controlled by the foot switch, but the main signal pathway is analog.
It has built in reverb, delay, chorus/flange/tremolo, and programmable 4 band tone control and gain.
The custom speaker cabinet was built for me in 2015 by Mather Cab https://www.
mathercab.
com and is slant back, closed, Baltic birch plywood with two 12” 50 watt Cannabis Rex https://eminence.
com/products/cannabis_rex hemp cone speakers wired to 16 ohms.
It has large recessed handles for carrying and is can be extremely loud when powered by the Switchblade 100 but also cleans up very nicely.
Curiously enough, this amp does sound very good a bedroom volumes, but I have entered the lunchbox 1/2 to 5 watt amp phase of my life in which all the powerful amps, such as this beauty, are being sold now.
If you are looking for a versatile, fantastic sounding, potentially extremely loud but easily controlled digitally programmable amp with a tube pathway and power section, I would highly recommend this amplifier.
This amp head and speaker cabinet also come with the foot switch controller, cable for the foot switch, 10 foot heavy duty power cable, and heavy duty speaker cable, all of which are in very good condition.
Here are two videos that explain what this Switchblade 100 can do and how it sounds:
