Job Title: LVSA Lead System Safety Engineer, Space Programs Location: Huntsville, AL Canvas, Inc.
is seeking a Lead System Safety Engineer will support Teledyne Brown Engineering Space Systems, specifically the LVSA project, and will work independently, with oversight from, and in cooperation with, the Program Manager, to develop System Safety and Reliability documentation, support Safety Verification closure, and provide technical leadership for other Safety and Reliability Engineers.
Duties: act as the primary point of contact with the SLS SPIE Chief Safety Officer (CSO) for S&MA activities act as of the chief point of contact for the SPIE CSO's boards schedule meetings, communicate status, issues, and concerns to the Government and to Teledyne Management oversee LVSA EH&S (OSHA) compliance and coordination with Teledyne and NASA Environmental and Industrial Safety Activities, to include coordination of safety for pyrotechnics components demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills other duties as assigned Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in an engineering/technical discipline required 20 -25 years of experience supporting System Safety activities required Experience with design and System Safety Hazard Analysis (Flight and Ground) Reporting, for Verification and Reliability, including development and acceptance of Reliability Analysis Reports, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Critical Items List (CIL) required Experience with Environmental Health and Safety compliance required experience with NASA System Safety Boards and processes strongly preferred Hands-on experience producing large space-flight hardware and systems Familiarity with SLS and LVSA hardware Participation in NASA MSFC Boards (ERB/ECB, MRB/SrMRB, TRR, FRR, VRAB and SVRAB etc.
) Experience with integration of space-flight hardware at KSC Experience with transportation and lifting activities for Space hardware Experience with training and certifications requirements OSHA and NASA If an offer of employment is extended, applicant must have the ability to pass a background check.
