Summary:
Performs and/or oversees a variety of academic student success and retention service initiatives.
In addition, provide academic advising to students.
Will provide academic student success and retention services by implementing programmatic systems, procedures, policies, academic advising, and policies.
Coordinate and monitor programmatic projects regarding retention, persistence, and completion.
Provide workshops and seminars to freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors regarding student success opportunities available to them.
Last, but not least, meet with the Deans and Department Heads to ensure maximized use of the CONNECT Centers and provide updates on retention data and academic advising.
Will work closely with the Executive Director of the Freshman Academy to ensure the process of academic advising and teaching of the orientation course is in sync with the current procedure.
Provide updates to Executive Director, Deans and Department heads on other student success and retention services throughout the campus.

Utilizes knowledge and understanding to implement programmatic systems, procedures, and policies regarding student success and/or retention services
Coordinate and monitor assigned CONNECT Center and the programmatic projects regarding retention, persistence and completion
Researches information, compiles statistics, and gathers and computes various data; prepares special and/or one-time reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries, selecting relevant data from a variety of sources.
Supervises undergraduate/graduate students
Teach orientation courses for the Freshman Academy
Provides and/or oversees support activities for the unit such as answering telephones, assisting and resolving problems and inquiries of visitors, review and control of incoming and outgoing correspondence, and follow-up on operational commitments.
Create, implement and preset workshops and seminars to students regarding academic advising and other student success initiatives.
Coordinate the schedules and meetings, facilities usage, events, and/or travel arrangements, as required.
Typical Qualifications
Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.
):
Master’s degree
Two (2) years of successful advising and/or teaching experience.

Knowledge of data collection and analysis methods, techniques, procedures.
Skill in effective communication, both written and verbal.
Skill in preparing and summarizing data for management reports and policy decisions.
