Description Summary: This is a 9-month, Instructor position, non-tenure track in the Department of Social Work.
This position requires the development, coordination, oversight and support of student field placements for students enrolled in the MSW Program.
Examples of Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The MSW Field Coordinator will be a member of the Field Team and report to the Director of Field Education.
Central responsibilities associated with this position include: Serving as a Field Liaison and a Field Instructor Teaching field seminar classes Recruiting and developing new field placement agencies.
Matching students with field agencies.
Supporting the implementation of orientation, training, and supervision for students, field instructors and faculty liaisons.
Evaluating field placement and liaison processes.
In addition to administrative responsibilities in the Office of Field Education and teaching, the successful candidate will engage in service to the Department, College, University, and profession Other field related duties as assigned Typical Qualifications Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.
): Successful candidates must have an MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited institution At least three years of post-MSW social work experience Previous field experience and or postsecondary teaching experience Licensed to practice social work in the state of Alabama at the LMSW level or License-Eligible Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will be licensed to practice social work at the LCSW level in Alabama or be license-eligible.
Supplemental Information Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficiency with MS Office and Blackboard and other relevant learning management software.
In-depth knowledge of north central region of the U.
S.
and state of Alabama human service organizations and practice community Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Exceptional organizational and follow-through abilities.
Ability to manage crises and problem solve multiple situations simultaneously in a collaborative work environment.
