Summary:
This position is in the College of Education, Humanities, and Behavioral Sciences.
The position is a full-time, 9-month position in the Department of English and Foreign Languages.
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the designated locations.
Teaches a minimum of 12 credit hours per academic semester.
Perspective employees must be committed to teaching first generation college students from diverse backgrounds at various skill levels.
Examples of Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Teaches undergraduate in general education program.
•Teaches courses in the humanities and/or rhetoric and composition.
•Participates in the activities of the department, college, and university including recruitment and new course development.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.
):
•PhD in English, Composition & Rhetoric, or closely related of English.
•One (1) to three (3) years’ experience teaching at the college level that includes freshman composition.
•Coursework and experience teaching courses in literature and/or composition is required.
•Evidence of excellence in teaching as demonstrated in a teaching demonstration.
•Experience teaching a diverse population.
