Assistant Coach, Men's Basketball

Job no: 500668 Department: Athletics Work type: staff full-time exempt Location: Alabama Categories: Athletics & Fitness Purpose of the Position: The Assistant Coach of Men's Basketball will assist the Head Basketball Coach in team management and administration and to reinforce the athletics department and university goals.
Duties/Responsibilities • Recruit and evaluate quality student athletes • Train and teach student-athletes both on and off of the court • Help to Maintain compliance with NCAA departmental and University rules and regulations • Assist in establishing game plans • Scout opponents • Coordinate Team Travel • Maintain correspondence with recruits • Assist with preparing the budget • Assist with program fundraising efforts • Coordinate film exchange • Coordinate game day management for home and visiting teams • Coordinate equipment purchase and maintenance • Maintain positive public relationships with the university and community Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience • Must have reasonable coaching experience • Must possess excellent communication skills Desired Qualifications: • Master’s degree in a related field is preferred • Knowledge of Sports Management is desired • College coaching experience is preferred Published Salary (if available): $38,000 - $44,000 Advertised: Mar 13 2024 Central Daylight Time Applications close:
